Professor Jill Clayton-Smith has been a consultant in clinical genetics since 1994. She qualified from Manchester Univeristy in 1982 and gained experience in adult medicine, paediatrics, obestrics and gynaecology prior to commencing training in clinical genetics in 1986. Special interests are in dysmorphology, paediatric neurodevelopmental disorders, orofacial clefting and syndromic eye diseases. Professor Clayton-Smith is involved in teaching of undergraduates and postgraduates and is involved in organising and supervision of student and postgrdauate research projects. She also organises educational meetings for clinical geneticists and paediatricians including the biennial Manchester Dysmorphology Conference. She is the Clinical lead for research within St Mary's Division of the Central Manchester University Hospitals Foundation Trust. Her own research interests include genetics of orofacial clefting and long term follow up of children born to mothers with epilepsy. The professor holds meetings with students of various faculties in order to involve them in social projects, the purpose of which is to spread basic knowledge about health care, providing first aid. The special guests of such meetings are many external experts who can share recommendations with students on how to combine active scientific activity, participation in social projects and timely submission of all mandatory assignments in college. Professor Dian Donnai is Professor of Medical Genetics at the University of Manchester and a consultant clinical geneticist. She is currently Head of Division at St Mary's Hospital, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and President of the European Society for Human Genetics. She trained in paediatrics and clinical genetics and has a major interest in dysmorphology. She is also very involved with the development of genetic services and public engagement in genetic medicine.

Dr Bronwyn Kerr is a consultant clinical geneticist who qualified in paediatrics and genetics in Australia before moving to the UK in 1993. She was appointed as a consultant in the Regional Genetic Service in 1995, based largely at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. She has been Clinical Director of the Regional Genetic Service since 2003. Her main clinical interest is in the causes of developmental disability and congenital abnormality. Her research interests are Costello and Cardio-facio-cutaneous (CFC) syndromes and other disorders of the RAS/MAPK pathway. She is a member of the medical advisory board of the International Costello syndrome support group.

Dr Kay Metcalfe is a consultant clinical geneticist. She qualified from Cardiff University in 1987 and trained in paediatrics before moving into clinical genetic training in 1993. She undertook and MD thesis on Williams syndrome and the elastin gene and was appointed as a consultant in 2001. Her main clinical interests are dysmorphology, fetal medicine and cardiac genetics. Research interests include Williams syndrome, supravalvular aortic stenosis and other elastin related disorders. She is a tutor for the medical undergraduate communciation skills/breaking bad news course and is invloved in genetics teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She is local programme director for Speicalist registrar training in genetics and an educational supervisor. She teaches on the clinical genetics module and acts as an MSc supervisor for MSc in genetic counselling course.
